Older Club members will remember Ron Brown both as a Director of R. E Brown builders who built out third Squash Court and as a playing member at the Club.
I have received an email from his son, Phil Brown, which I have copied into this newsletter.
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I would like to inform you of the funeral arrangements for Ron Brown, who sadly passed away on 2nd December.
Ron was Director of R.E Brown Builders for many years before taking over Salop Glass in Shrewsbury, a mantel which he passed to myself and my brother, David, in 2016.
He was a very active member of the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Master Builders, as well as being involved with Shrewsbury Town Football Club a few years back.
The funeral will be taking place on Wednesday 8th January at 11am.
The service is to be held at Shrewsbury Cemetery Chapel, Longden Road, Shrewsbury SY3 7HS.
I would like to extend a welcome to attend to all who knew Ron and wish to help us celebrate his life.
He always said he didn’t want this to be a miserable occasion, so we ask guests to add a splash of colour to their outfits, if you feel appropriate doing so.
Donations on the day will be split between Clive Surgery and Shrewsbury Hospice, who provided Ron with a lot of comfort and care in his final days.
