Equity & Diversity
I have been a member and Chairman of SS&RC since 1995 and I have never felt so dispirited and disappointed as I do at this moment.
In June 2022 the Club took good and highly appropriate steps in preparing and adopting it's Safeguarding, Equity and Diversity policy.
This was published on the large area of the corridor notice board and a copy sent to all members; appropriate posters were displayed in the clubhouse.
Gary Nolan was appointed as safeguarding Officer.
I felt that, as a Club, we had "grown up" and turned a very important corner in matters of Equity and Diversity.
Can you imagine how cross, angry, frustrated and upset I have been over the past few days when being exposed to the unacceptable face of remarks and comments on the Club What's App group posing allegedly as "humour".
IT HAS TO STOP.
The Group App is for exchanging and arranging Squash matches etc and posts should be used for that purpose only.
Gary and I will be discussing the matter with the Executive Committee at the next meeting with a view to possibly applying sanctions where applicable.
In the meantime I attach the Equity & Diversity Policy - PLEASE read it and amend your use of the Social Media accordingly.
